Michelle Knight. Writer, photographer, programmer, truck driver and general, all round nut case. Life is a journey and that's what this blog will probably end up being. Let's see where we go, eh? ;-)
I was doing my usual lunchtime walk down the seafront today, and as I was walking along, a bloke was getting out of a 90 year old Austin 7. A classic British car.
We shook hands and he introduced himself as Alan and that he lived in Littlehampton and had a passion for vintage cars. I tried to find him on the internet, but didn't succeed. I wish I'd taken a picture now. Oh well. I thought I'd have found someone with his level of charisma easily. Not so, apparently.
He had much to say, how so many people in the area own vintage cars (6,000 people owning 10,000 vehicles) but that no one uses them because they're scared of vandalism; and that it's a great shame as they'd create a real show and bring people in to the area.
He went on about his ideas and it developed in to a bit of a rant; how the local council was so politically correct and didn't engage with ideas or... how shall I put this... "free spirit." From my own experiences, I have to admit to agreeing with many of his points.
Inevitably, I had to cry off and carry on back to work, or else I'd be ranted at by my boss. ... I didn't dare tell Alan where I work... well, at least for the next two weeks, anyway.
