Genie is with five Alpha readers. Two have come back, two are still reading, and the last appears to have fallen off the earth. I hope he's OK.

Among the short pieces of feedback (we'll talk properly on Tuesday) was this...

I enjoyed that ‘Genie’ is:
-        different from your other books (not easy to achieve)
-        multi-dimensional e.g. whilst sad, and having a high body count, it was injected with laugh-out-loud incidents (just as in real life).

That's actually positive, because it's how I like to write. When I create something, I want to make it realistic, and that means a roller coaster of good and bad.

This holiday season we have an extra two days off, either side of the weekend. I spent a couple of them with friends, but the remaining two will be spent catching up on things, including housework. At least, with Genie being out with readers, I'm not working on it, which means I stop burning the candle at both ends for a few weeks. Bliss.

Could do with catching up on some more reading, though. Maybe next weekend...
