Michelle Knight. Writer, photographer, programmer, truck driver and general, all round nut case. Life is a journey and that's what this blog will probably end up being. Let's see where we go, eh? ;-)
OK, this should be the last crazy post from me for a while. I promised you a look at what is in the bottom section of the second tool box, and here it is... (remember you can right click and view image to go large.)
At the back, you can see some A4 perspex holders with information in them. They are quotes, sections of some reviews and a price list!
In the middle you can see water, in two different sizes, and also some sugar rich snacks to keep us running. The blue thing is one of my photographic backgrounds that is getting pressed in to service as a table cover. One of my photographic backgrounds turns a horrible colour under flash conditions, so I'm just hoping that this is it, or else I'm going to waste a perfectly good background!
Business cards and charger. I haven't paid for mains power at the table, but I should get a chance to charge things overnight at the hotel. If this goes right, I should be spending my time talking with people, rather than playing around with equipment, but who knows what will happen.
There is a purse there for all the money I'm not going to make! Actually, it already houses the cash to pay for the facilities I'm going to be using, so it will probably be getting more empty rather than fuller.
The much-hunted-for signing pens, along with a few extra spares and some post-it clones. Being dyslexic, I write people's names on one of those before actually writing it in a book; saves mistakes.
There is paperwork, maps and instructions for connecting to wi-fi (which will be much contended so I don't expect to be doing any, "broadcasting," from the venue) and for electronics I'm taking my kobo and my 7" Samsung tablet. The tablet is firstly in an unappealing "tough" case and also it is not one of my main tablets so if there is a wi-fi hacker operating at the convention, they won't do me any serious damage ... the tablet is in case I end up doing browsing and want to show someone my web site, or browse the news.
Obviously, my mobile phone will be on my hip, but that's about it. In a place with lots of people I'll be travelling very light and with things that have as little consequence as possible if they get stolen. The most valuable thing will actually be the kobo. I'll have a second bag for clothes and wash bag, but that's it!
