I'm going to try and get back to bed shortly. There had been a lack of response from the alpha readers. No surprise as they're all volunteers and life gets in the way; asking them to read a book that hasn't even been edited properly yet, in just a couple of weeks is no small thing.

However, I just woke up to this... "What a fabulous book.  I hadnt expected it to be a tear jerker, or that i would be moved to tears on ****** seperate occasions.  Personally, I thought you nailed it in terms of pace, detail, content, emotion etc. And wouldnt change a thing.  Well done you xx"

Well, I've already put in another short chapter for a start! So it has already changed. I did have a quick chat with another of them yesterday morning and something about the very first paragraph, "bugged," them; they're not sure what. But they're going to have more of a think about it. They are more of a descriptive reader so I'll have to wait for their report which should be before the end of the week. The editor is nipping the other side of the pond next Tuesday so there's no way I'll get the script to her before then. But such is life.

And now ... back to bed.
