Reading progress update: I've read 19 out of 536 pages.
This is not going well. The characters don't have much life in them. There seems to be a good plot here, but I'm wading in water here. I find myself not actually wanting to pick this up and read it.
I'm going to have to put it one side for when life is a little more settled and I'm not bouncing around as much. Maybe then I can give it a good crack, now that I know what kind of read it is.
