I was innocently painting the fence yesterday, and the phone rang. It was a friend. We were sharing woes and he told me about somewhere that I might be able to pick up a few hints about writing that might make things better.

Somehow, less than 24 hours later, I've talked with the organiser, I have a 6' table for two days, 200 books of stock is now ordered, I've got A4 perspex sheet holders on the way, a couple of fresh black Sharpie's for signing, and I'm sat here with my morning coffee, wondering how the hell all this happened.

I think there's a line in a song somewhere, "You won't shine if you don't glow."

Oh shit. What the hell have I done? Well, on the bright side, the whole back fence got its first coat. And thanks to my shaking hand, so did most of the floor.
