Michelle's corner

Michelle Knight. Writer, photographer, programmer, truck driver and general, all round nut case. Life is a journey and that's what this blog will probably end up being. Let's see where we go, eh? ;-)

Currently reading

Science and Philosophy in the Indian Buddhist Classics
Dalai Lama XIV, Ian Coghlan
Progress: 23/433 pages

This kind of feedback is humbling

Not every reader connects with every book, but the Submissive Heart series has really struck with one of my latest beta readers. She is late to the series so only just finished catching up.

I got the following after she finished the latest one... "Book finished... bloody brilliant ... hurry up with number 4 please :-)"

Eeek!

Obviously as I've just started book 4, I asked if there was anything that particularly stood out or disappointed. She said, "The one thing that stood out is the fact that once I started reading it I found it difficult to put down!!!"

Double Eeek!

She didn't take to Check Mate, though! ;-)

This kind of feedback is always a bit humbling and also worrying. I prefer honest and seasoned reviewers rather than the, "social," reviewers who hand out five stars as if they were sweets. That fifth star has to be reached for and earned. I'm Knight, not Koestler. My journey as a writer for the, "vanilla," audience is only just beginning. I've got a long way to go and I'm in this for the long haul.

But one thing is for sure ... I seem to have hit her sweet spot right in the bulls eye ... and I'll be pestered until I've done book 4 and finished the series now! Eeek!
