What makes me tick?

Seeing and putting smiles on people's faces.

Just today I gave a colleague a chance to be in the second book. Her eyes lit up. I'm waiting for some details from her, and then I'll make it happen. She's game for a laugh and is one of life's beautiful souls, so ... yeh. She's a good sport as well but I won't abuse the privilege.

I'm writing this while trying to repair some laptop drives. It'll take two or three evenings and it looks like, this time, it will be bad news. I can't win 'em all.

Throughout my life there seems to be a sign attached to my back, "Will repair computers for wine." I haven't managed to see it myself yet. Some day I'll catch it in a mirror.

Feedback makes me tick. To know that what I'm doing, the risks I'm taking, the time and money I'm spending, are helping people. I review tech stuff and other bits and pieces and have been blogging and vlogging for years. My followers are small in number, bouncing around 1,500 at the moment, but I get feedback from them and I'm grateful when they spare a few moments to give me a nudge.

Companion was made to open doors of understanding, just like the web sites I've made. The follow up also introduces many facts to the reader that are woven in to the story line. Not easy to do, but I'm making it happen. The books are written for more than just entertainment.

One thing I know is that even if I did become a successful author, or win the lottery, I couldn't easily give up my job and lock myself away in the country to write; people are too precious to me.
