My car has been playing silly buggers.

Yesterday morning, and yesterday evening, when pulling away, it gave a pleasant, "tring..." which is usually accompanied by a light on the dash to tell me what it's complaining about. Most often it's to draw my attention to low temperatures, in which case the centre display changes.

This time... no change.

It's at times like these that my mind turns to the mysteries of Douglas Adams, and that perhaps it should be lighting up the "light failure" bulb, to tell me that there's a light failure... but that the failure is actually the notification bulb itself.

Mysteries like these should be confined to the pages of a fiction novel, not coming to worrying life in the machine I rely on for my daily perambulation.
